Lactation Referral

The Physicians of Fayetteville Children’s Clinic fully support breastfeeding as the #1 choice for babies. We realize that it can be frustrating getting started or not having answers to questions about breastfeeding.  A lactation consultant referral may be needed.  First, your baby should be seen by the doctor to check for weight gain/loss, signs or symptoms of other problems.  A good number of insurance plans now cover the cost of a lactation consultant. Please give your insurance company a call to check on coverage for a lactation consultant.
