Allergy testing is offered for patients with symptoms of occasional or chronic runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, post nasal drainage, cough, vomiting, asthma, eczema, or sinusitis. The allergy testing we offer includes a Regional Environmental Panel and/or a Pediatric Food Panel. The doctor may order blood tests, or serum IgE, if needed.
By doing allergy tests, results will show what your child’s likely triggers are. As a result, we are able to give specific environmental recommendations, and increase or change medications to help control the allergies. Your doctor may or may not recommend that a referral to an allergist is needed for further control.
When the allergy appointment is scheduled here, we provide a packet of information that will guide you as you prepare for the testing. It includes a list of medications your child should avoid prior to the testing.
If you are interested, please speak with your doctor at your child’s next appointment.
