Allergy Testing

Allergy concerns can be discussed with your child’s specific doctor. A dedicated allergy appointment at our office, or a referral to an allergist, would be made if further evaluation is recommended.

By doing allergy tests, sensitivity to 8-72 triggers will be known.  Results will show what your child’s likely triggers are. Environmental control measures may be recommended and specific changes in your child’s room may be needed. Medications may be suggested.

Environmental Allergy testing may be recommended, for problem symptoms of runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, post nasal drainage, cough, vomiting, asthma, eczema, multiple ear infections or sinus infections.   We can perform skin prick testing in office and order blood tests if needed.

Food Allergy testing is offered to our patients who may have had reactions to foods.  We can perform skin prick testing in office, and order blood tests if needed.

Your doctor may recommend a referral to an allergist.  We do not offer immunotherapy in  our office.

We provide a packet of information, that will help you prepare your child for testing. It includes a list of medications your child should avoid for 4 days prior to the Allergy testing appointment.

If you are interested in having your child tested, please speak with your child’s doctor or nurse.
